CLINICAL
VIGNETTES

About the clinical vignettes

What this survey is and why we are doing it?:
A clincial vignette survey to measure variation in RSI practice during the management of physiologically difficult airways and to identify the key factors that drive differences in clinicians’ decision-making.

Study Window
1–30 June 2026 (one month) at all participating hospital sites.

Participants
Healthcare professionals in anaesthetics, ICM or EM in the UK who are airway trained or airway competent and involved in intubation decision-making.

Survey Domains

Demographics: Specialty, grade and number of intubations performed.

Clinical vignettes:

The survey will present short clinical vignettes representing common physiological challenges encountered during RSI. Respondents will be asked to choose their preferred airway management components and indicate how these patient factors influence their decision-making.
